Training & Support
The collective power and support of the nation’s leading automotive aftermarket company create a secure and one-of-a-kind entrepreneurial opportunity. Meineke has one of the most comprehensive training programs in the industry, perhaps in all of franchising! All new franchisees must attend Meineke University, a two-week training program in Charlotte, NC, which teaches the necessary management and technical skills. Meineke’s initial license fee pays for the flights and hotel for up to two franchise agreement signees. Meineke Online also provides franchisees and their employees with over 70 online courses.
Additionally, Meineke Operations provides in-center training and training webinars on an ongoing basis. Furthermore, Meineke hosts yearly conventions/meetings for franchisees, each focusing on different aspects of the business. This is a fantastic training opportunity for those unfamiliar with the automotive industry's technical side. For those familiar, it is a terrific opportunity to learn about running a business.
History
In 1972, Sam Meineke founded Meineke Discount Muffler in San Antonio, TX, with the first franchise being sold later that year. Innovation has always been a theme with Meineke, as Sam would test new ideas in the ten shops he owned personally before passing them on to the franchisees.
In 1999, Meineke transitioned to full-service care centers and would eventually combine with Maaco to form Driven Brands. In 2015, Roark Capital Group acquired Driven Brands, which has led to steady growth ever since.
While Meineke has become a household name, we can never forget our humble beginnings. Sam’s commitment to excellent service and providing car owners everywhere with an automobile care partner they can trust is why we’re here today.
Ideal Candidate
NO AUTOMOTIVE EXPERIENCE NECESSARY!
An ideal Meineke candidate would have business and sales experience. The owners are not often the ones working on vehicles in the shop. On a day-to-day basis, most owners are overseeing 4-5 employees per center, planning operational improvements, building local fleet accounts, and building a relationship with the local community. 85% of our franchisees are actually outside of the automotive industry. Many corporate executives like our model because of its recession resiliency and industry trends.
